My name is Bruce Crompton, founder and
owner of Crompton Engineering. My experience in Heavy engineering was gained while working for Culham engineering, Kiwi Price engineering and McGrath Engineering in Auckland. Working for these firms gave me
valuable experience in such places as the Whangarei oil refinery, various construction and ship maintenance projects.
Crompton Engineering was established in February 1976 after taking over the
Premises from Lowther Engineering Ltd. Initially Crompton Engineering was mostly involved with agricultural Machinery repairs and Maintenance in support of the Kumara and Dairy industry. This has led to a number
of products that we now manufacture.
Over the years we have also diversified to include Flood gate Manufacture for the Kaipara district Council and this has expanded to cover projects in the Far North
and lower Kaipara areas. Recently we have been involved with the manufacture of Hydraulicly operated flood control systems for the Kaipara District council. We hope this will provide the opportunity for future expansion
in response to climate change caused by global warming.
